A very odd thing started happening recently. Here's the case: a hard disk image (Win7 x64) is on another partition, but symlink to that HD image file is created in ~/.virtualbox/ folder. Every 3rd or 4th time I try to save the state, VBox crashes. After that crash, it works fine for a couple of times, and then again the same issue. It's very funny that it will NEVER crash 2 times in a row, but always after 3 or 4 boots.
Anyone knows what's going on? Somehow I think that the symlink to HD image is making vbox crash (to say again, it DID NOT happen ever before). I have MacOS which HD image file is inside ~/.virtualbox/ folder and I do not have the crashing (thou I don't use that OS so often so it's possible I didn't notice it).
If symlink is making the trouble, does anyone know if HARD link could fix the problem? What's the bad side of having hard link to hd image file?
Vbox crashes on Save State!
Re: Vbox crashes on Save State!
no one had similar issue?
Re: Vbox crashes on Save State! [SOLVED]
It seems that I've solved the issue. After I linked VBox directly to HD image on another partition, crashing stopped.
This might be a solution, but more important thing is that this issue DID NOT exist in previous versions so it is, after all, a bug in new version. Hope someone will notice this message and take care.
