Using VMs that have newer GA than the VB edition installed?
How safe is it to use a virtual machine with the latest Guest Additions (3.2.8 as of this post) with older versions of VirtualBox? I'm not talking super old, the oldest version I have to work with would be 3.2.4.

While it is not out of the ordinary to run older GAs I think you might fine running newer ones will cause intermittent problems.
Not ever version mind you but I did have a problem at least once when I was downgrading VBox and did not reinstall the older GAs.
