USB headset on Windows XP guest

Hello,
I'm new to these forums so I am not sure if I posted this in the correct section.
I'm running virtualbox 3.2.8 on an ubuntu 10.04 host, guest OS is Windows XP SP3.
I want to use my USB headset on the guest OS. But I don't understand how. I tried something with the filterthingy's but I didn't get any wiser of it.
Can you help me?
Thanks!

Your profile states OSE version of VirtualBox.
The OSE version does not support USB, you would need the PUEL version.

I have the PUEL version, selected the wrong one for my profile.

Did you add your login to the vboxusers group?
In a host terminal run this:
Code: Select all
sudo usermod -aG vboxusers <your username>
Replace <your username> with the name you use to log in. Type your user password when prompted.
Note: you must log off and back in for this to take effect.

Same problem here. The headset works perfect under Ubuntu 10.04 64-Bit, but the WinXP guest (VBox 3.28) does not see it. My account is member of vboxusers.
Any more ideas?

Does Windows see the headset?
Usually you can create a blank filter in the guest settings (with the guest shutdown) and then unplug and plug back in while the guest is running and capture the USB device.
