Linux Mint host, Windows XP Pro guest.

AutoPlay is not working with the DVD/CD drive in Windows. I can run installers by sticking a pin in the eject hole of the drive - pressing the button to open the drive doesn't work; however, pressing the button does close the drive, and I can run installers by finding the .exe file using Windows Explorer.

Sorry if this is simple. I've searched the manual, forums, and the Web - nada so far. Could it be an incorrect master/slave setting in VB - I've tried it as slave master and slave without success. Will be happy to run any diagnostics, etc. and post here.

p.s. The drive seems to be running very slowly - software installs take much longer, even for Windows.

If autorun doesn't work, then either the drive is mounted before the OS has booted, the disc doesn't have autorun, or it's disabled in the OS. A small chance is that the Shift key is pressed when the disc is loaded.
