XP shuts down on bootup

Hi all,
I am running an XP guest on an OSX host, which had been working fine for the last 10 month or more. However, after an upgrade to the latest version I have a problem with my XP guest: The bootup sequence starts and the Windows logo appears. All happens as usual but after approx. 30 seconds when it tries to display the XP desktop the bootup sequence suddenly stops and ends the process. In that context I also noticed that I cannot change the screen resolution anymore (I can resize the screen but the bootup logo etc. remains in the same default resolution).
On the other hand my other Fedora Core Linux guest is sitll working fine.
I have the impression that it might be a display/graphics problem - but this is just a guess. Since it happend without anything I changed I don't know what the problem could be.
Can anyone help ?
Thanks a lot in advance
