Immutable Disk not showing as so

Hi,

I have a VDI which I have marked as Immutable, however when I attach it to the Media Manager (and subsequent VMs) it shows as normal and is also written to like a normal VDI.

Here is the output from showhdinfo:

Oracle VM VirtualBox Command Line Management Interface Version 3.2.8
(C) 2005-2010 Oracle Corporation
All rights reserved.

UUID: ce87be5f-7af0-453f-a65e-5623a22e0047
Accessible: yes
Description:
Logical size: 20817 MBytes
Current size on disk: 10105 MBytes
Type: immutable
Storage format: VDI
Location: C:\Users\JSMITH\.VirtualBox\HardDisks\WinXPBase2.vdi

However if I look at it in the GUI it shows "Normal" as per the attachment. I have tried cloning the VDI and get the same problem.

Would really appreciate any comments as I've been tearing my hair out on this for a couple of days now!

Cheers!

Another bit of info I've just found, if I attach it to a VM, then run showhdinfo, it seems to have returned to a Normal disk again! Almost like the GUI is reverting it back to Normal irrespective of what I set it to via the command line (which I didn't think it was possible to do, which is why you set it to immutable via vboxmanage).

Any news on this issue, I'm having the exact same problem.

Win7 x64 host, win2008 x64 guest, vbox 4.0. When I set the image to immutable and run vboxmange showhdinfo it says immutable, but as soon as I load the image in a vm-instance it resets back to normal. The gui never changes to show type immutable.

UPDATE:

I did nothing but close down vbox and do some other stuff for maybe 20 minutes. Thought I'd give it another shot and tried showhdinfo which showed immutable, fired up vbox and the gui also shows immutable. Loaded the image in an instance where it also shows immutable and the vm created a differencing disc. Very weird.
