x64 linux guest, possible noob question

Post by Hunter067 »

After hours of waiting I finally get the Mandriva 2010.1 DVD .iso, but unfortunately I absentmindedly downloaded it's 64-bit version. I tried it on a virtual machine and the splash gave a message saying that basically my CPU architecture was 32-bit not 64-bit. When I used the computer itself as a test subject (did not install, of course), the .iso did not give me the message. Do 64-bit operating systems not work on Virtualbox?

host: Windows 7 64-bit host

Make sure that you have hardware-v and that it is enabled in your PCs bios.
