Windows Ïnstaller issue (Ubuntu 10.4 host, Win XP SP3 guest)

Hi!! I have recenlty installed Virtual Box 3.2.8 r64453 at Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (Kernel 2.6.32-24-generic)
Then i put Windows XP SP3 as guest running that version of Virtual Box. When i want to install some soft in the guest, the installer can't execute, instead a warning message appears: "Can't execute Windows Installer, make sure you are not in failsafe mode, reinstalling Windows installer could solve the problem" (Or something like that)
Could it be a RAM memory issue? I have 1GB and assigned 400 MB to Windows guest.
Maybe an incompatibility issue between Ubuntu and Virtual Box versions?
Thank you in advance.
