Hello,
in VMware it's possible to have everything for a VM in just one folder (HDD, configs, etc.). This makes it to copy the VM to different locations. How can I have the same in VirtualBox?
Currently the default is "%UserProfile%\.VirtualBox". There is a VirtualBox.xml that contains the location of the virtual HDDs,... There is a machine specific config below "Machines\*\*.xml",... Can I copy everything to one folder to have all what I need?
Regards,
JoeB27

VirtualBox is not setup that way. It breaks everything (guests) into sub folders. You can change the location of the main folder but the main VirtualBox.xml (config file) will still be in your user space.

Yes, but you need to keep VBox informed when you move things - especially the Virtual Media Manager (Cmd-D)!JoeB27 wrote:everything for a VM in just one folder (HDD, configs, etc.)
You already may move the SnapShots as you wish.
I found the tedious effort not worth it - easier to have VBox on unique partition and back up the partiton
