I am running Windows XP pro on the Virtual Box

Two major problems I am experiencing since yesterday.

First started with : an EXE file that need to run, but I get the CRC File error window pop up. Although the same file I ran with no trouble on another Laptop, and on the same laptop, but on a different Virtual machine.

Googled the CRC File error, one of the suggestions was to run a virus scan. So installed Kaspersky, But, since i did that, once Kaspersky starts, Windows XP Freeze !

How can I get Rid of Kaspersky before it starts and freezes the machine?

And why do I get the CRC File error?

Start XP in safe mode (press F8 at boot) then remove kaspersky.
Reboot and make sure everything is running.
What is the exe file that you are trying to run?

You must be quick. start pressing it as soon as you click on the start button in VBox and rapidly keep pressing it until you get to the screen that allows you to select safe mode.

Figured it out.

The file is not damaged......used the CMD copy to NULL command to determine that.
I had to create a new machine, with a new HDD

However, in the Safe Mode, I was not able to uninstall, as Windows Installer is not running in Safe Mode, and did not accept to RUN manually.

Thanks.
