Problems adding shared folders via user interface

Anyone else having trouble adding shared folders using the user interface? This is a new issue since I upgraded to Snow Leopard a couple of days ago.

When I click on the little "+" icon to add a share, my only choices in the dropdown are "<not selected>" and "Other..." I choose "Other" and the OS X Finder window pops up, but the dropdown is blank. From this point on, nothing works. Clicking on the dropdown simply stalls, clicking on something in the scroll box crashes VirtualBox. Screen shot of the faulty dialog attached.

For what it's worth, I'm having a similar problem with Google Chrome since I upgraded to Snow Leopard: if I do a "File Print" and "Save As PDF" that same Finder dialog fails in the same way and crashes Chrome. Not sure if they're related, but until I had this problem with VirtualBox today I didn't even know how to describe what I was seeing.

By the way, this is NOT a problem with creating shared folders: after failing with the user interface, I went to the command line and had no problem creating the share from there.

If you get the same thing in Google Chrome, it would appear that some kind of library or whatever files are responsible for the finder dialogue to be broken. Have you checked the Mac forums for similar results?
