XML files

Post by ldo »

Hello,

VirtualBox-3.2.8-64453-Linux_amd64

in the past I have synchronized two pc's with the complete vdi-files, vm settings inclusive the .Virtualbox folder, but now it seem to be that the xml files are protected. I made a new installation and tried to copy the settings from my other pc to this one, but Virtualbox overwrites the xml files.

xml files.
VirtualBox.xml-prev
VirtualBox.xml

Is there a new directory where alle xml settings are stored?

thank you very much

kind regards

ldo

VirtualBox will update an xml file if the information it contains is obsolete (not for the running VirtualBox version). This is normal. The old xml is renamed as the "prev" file.

I'm not sure if you have a specific problem, or you just have this observation.
