Failed to import appliance-3.2.8 Win7 host

Created a few server 2008 and win 7 appliances. Had to reinstall my host OS, so I exported all 5 appliances to external HDD. (I did not check the use 0.9 complicance). After reinstalling my host I am only able to import 3 of the appliances. 1 server 2008 and 1 win 7 will not import. After many hours of reading and testing I would appreciate if anyone could share their experince with this issue.

I have attached an image of the server 2008
mesage is "Failed to import appliance... Could not create the clone medium (VERR_GENERAL_FAILURE)"
Result code: E_FAIL (0x80004005)

Any idea how to fix this? I can reinstall the win7 appliance no trouble but this server is gonna take some work to get back up if I have to reload from scratch.

I am getting the exact same error message in 3.2.10 when importing vmdk.

Host: Win7 / Guest: RedHat

Any idea how to fix this?

Getting the same error under 3.2.12 after ~ 5%
"Failed to import appliance... Could not create the clone medium (VERR_GENERAL_FAILURE)"
Result code: E_FAIL (0x80004005)
VM was exported to ovf/vmdk on win7 host, imported on other win7 .

Any hints ?
