Can't uninstall Guest Additions

I have a Win 7 ultimate 64 bit host, with Win Server 2008 Guest. I have been battling the dreaded s..l..o..w bridged networking, and one person suggested uninstalling and then re-installing the Guest Additions.
Hmm! Can't do it! Restar Windows after doing uninstall, and hey presto! there it is.
Any suggestions?
