Do I have 32bit color for my SuSE machine?

Post by LGLisle »

I looked at topic http://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=29004 which seemed to match my issue, but came away just as confused as before. :?

I loaded OpenSuSE 11.2 and got the same error message as the other poster. I tried to install the guest additions, but I'm not sure I did it correctly. I clicked the line in the devices tab, but nothing seemed to happen. As root, I opened the guest additions iso, and ran the "vbox linux additions" and said "yes" when it asked me. I'm not sure if I should have, and I'm not sure what, if anything, it loaded. When I run sax2, it shows only a 24bit mode available. When I set that, the error message still says 16bit, even though sax2 says I'm running in 24bit mode. Do I just ignore the error message, or have I got something set up wrong?

Is there a way to tell what guest additions are loaded?

You cannot install this click by click in explorerstyle.

Read the Howto for this in the Tutorial Area (Linux Guests).
