Network Disabled on Linux Ubuntu - Windows Host

Post by rojas70 »

Hi,

I have a windows xp host, linux ubuntu guest.

After I updated to 3.2.8 the internet (wired or otherwise) stopped running on my linux host.
On the VM Settings I have the:
- Network Adapter Enabled
- Attached to: Bridged Adapter (Braodcom 440x 10/100 Integrated Controller).

I am not an expert and am looking for simple steps to follow.
Thanks for you help!

The adapter may be enabled, but is the virtual cable still connected (checkbox ticked)? What does 'ifconfig -a' say in the Guest? If you see other interfaces than eth0 and lo, it means that the Guest assigned a new name to it and that is only done when the MAC address of the virtual interface changed. Please verify this.
