Send shutdown signal to Ubuntu Jeos VM fails

Post by chris.percol »

Hi there...I am running Ubuntu Jeos vms in headless mode on the MAC and virtualbox 3.2.

My query is regarding shutdown? If I am in graphical mode the vms ignore the 'send shutdown signal' command which I guess is the reason I have no joy with vboxmanage controlvm also. How do I troubleshoot/fix this?

Many thanks,

Chris

From another post discovered acpid was the answer, installed it and now Jeos vm shutsdown.

Correct. Without the ACPI daemon running, there is no action defined when such a signal is received and just ignores it.
