SELinux & VirtualBox (Fedora Core6)

Post by theblackdevil »

Hello,

First for all, I'll tanks the team who wrote the "User Manual" because even a Linux newbie arrived to install it !! Good job

I wanted to know what I can do to add VIrtualBox to the SELinux policy, because as you know if the option "Allow unconfirmed executables requiring relocation..." in the configuration of SELinux is not checked, virtualbox wont work...
But I think that's not the solution, there is a way to add properly VirtualBox to the policy of the SELinux ?

Thank you :)

I think that I found, thanks to Setroubleshoot :)

After having exectued the following commands, I could launch VirtualBox without disabling or check the box of SELinux :

Code: Select all

chcon -t textrel_shlib_t /opt/VirtualBox/VBoxVMM.so
chcon -t textrel_shlib_t /opt/VirtualBox/VBoxREM.so
chcon -t textrel_shlib_t /opt/VirtualBox/VBoxRT.so
chcon -t textrel_shlib_t /opt/VirtualBox/components/VBoxSVCM.so
chcon -t textrel_shlib_t /opt/VirtualBox/VBoxXML.so
chcon -t textrel_shlib_t /opt/VirtualBox/VBoxDDU.so
chcon -t textrel_shlib_t /opt/VirtualBox/components/VBoxC.so
chcon -t textrel_shlib_t /opt/VirtualBox/VBoxDD2.so
chcon -t textrel_shlib_t /opt/VirtualBox/VBoxDD.so
Maybe there are another command, but I could launch my Windows XP Virtual...

Other things ? Other solution ??

Thank you

Your solution is correct. This is actually what our Red Hat RPMs do during installation. However, we do not have an RPM for Fedora Core 6. There's one for Fedora 7 (soon also as 64bit).

Ok thank you achimha, normally i would say "why there's not fedora core 6 rpm ?!" but the installation from sources is so easy !! ^^

Thanks again ^^
