[solved] Centos 5.5 guest idle but host CPU spikes

Post by rombert »

Hi,

With a MacBook Pro and running Mac OS X 10.6.4, VirtualBox 3.2.8 PEUL , I get CPU spikes with a Centos 5.5 guest, console only ( no guest additions ) . The guest CPU is idle, but the host CPU uses around 40-80% most of the time. I tried disabling nested paging, VT-x, even messed with the APIC settings.

Starting up a second guest, as hinted in the forum, did not help.

Current VM configuration:

Is there anything I should do to get decent CPU usage? Alternatively, should I file a bug report?

Thanks,
