any workarounds to get 120hz working on the guest os?
The guest does not use your real physical graphics card or real monitor.
It uses a virtual graphics card and a virtual monitor implemented in software. 120Hz for the virtual software graphics card has no meaning.
If your host is set to 120Hz, then you will be getting 120Hz on the guest, even if it says otherwise.
