Virtual Box 3.2.8

Ubuntu 10.04 LTS host

Windows XP Pro Guest.

I am not running the OSE edition.

I have added various USB devices via the filter, they appear in the little virtual box usb icon when the guest is running, but I cannot click on them, I don't get a highlighted bar or any way of actually 'ticking' the item.

this is the same as well if I click on 'devices' then 'usb' devices, they appear, they aren't greyed out but the mouse does nothing and I can't tick them

Anyone ideas, I would be most grateful

Did you add your login to the vboxusers group on the host?
you must log off and back in for it to take effect.

I did, but i haven't logged off an on again will do so now and let you know!

Working now after a reboot - many thanks.
Why didn't I need to do that before and why isn't it mentioned during the install Grrrr
