Hi all,
I remember that in the past there were discussions about brancheable snapshots. I just had a look at 3.2.8 and at least from the GUI I didn't get an Idea on how to branch. I assume I have to be able to boot from an older snapshot to get another current state from there that I could then again snapshot?
I didn't find the respective area in the online manual. Could someone give me some help with that?
Regards,
Martin

Re: Branching Snapshots?
Select the snapshot you want to create a new branch for and then use Restore Snapshot.
Snapshots between there and the Current State will stay in place on their own (old) branch and the Current State will move so it is a direct child of the selected snasphot (making a very short new branch).
NOTE: This will discard the 'current' Current State, so if you want to keep that on the old branch, then take a new snapshot first BEFORE restoring the taraget snapshot.

Re: Branching Snapshots?
Not quite self-explanatory, but the snapshot feature was kind of misleading in the past anyway (when I rmember the snapshot buttons and their wording back in the 2.x aera.)
Thank you very much for your help.
