As part of labwork of one of my courses, I have a couple of Linux Virtualbox Guest machines. However I would like to run these machines anywhere, including on university machines which do *not* have any virtualization software (e.g. VirtualBox) installed and I *don't* have admin access to these machines and they are in lock-down mode.
I tried Protable Virtualbox, but the system asks for admin password, so it is useless.........
Now I have an idea: Would it work in Virtualbox is installed inside VMware ThinApp and then I put my virtual machines and the VirtualBox sandboxed inside ThinApp onto a USB disk? In this setting, as a non-admin user, will I be able to run the thinapp (with VirtualBox inside) on machines I do not have privilege to? Then after I successfully run the VirtualBox, will I be able to access my machines?
Thanks!
Mark
