I've been running a windows 2000 guest on an XP host - Vbox v 1.3.8 and everthing was working great until logging in this morning.
I can't get to the internet from guest (local network works fine). When I manually enter my DNS addreses into the adapter properties I can get out. But it should be grabbing them from the router and up until this morning it had been.
Any ideas on what I can check/change to get DHCP to work fully?
Thanks.
DHCP not working
Possible solution?
chrisfcm,
I was having this same problem with DHCP in XP--occurred out of nowhere (just today, actually) and has brought much annoyance.
I'm not absolutely sure why/if this worked, but I shut the VM down, went to settings through the UI, and generated a new MAC address for the adapter.
Upon starting the machine back up and logging in, I'm now flying right along with an auto-assigned DHCP address of 10.0.2.15 and working Internet access
Hope this helps
