Update to 10.6.4 and try again. Worked ok for me.
Still have issues? Run a permission repair in disk utility.

I've been running Snow Leopard 10.6.4 and VBox 3.2.6 very well. I have a iMac quad i7. I don't know why a OSX upgrade would help, but maybe. I have 6-7 Ubuntu distros, FreeBSD and Fedora 13 installed. Fedora has one nagging issue with 3D acceleration. namely it crashes the iMac. Otherwise VBox is quite stable. See what the OSX upgrade will do for you. Good luck
