shared fold owned by root, cause many access problem

Post by patiobarbecue »

Dear there,

host: Mac os x 10.6
guest: Ubuntu 64

I mainly use it to compile C code. however after I mounted the shared files from host, the owner changed to root automatically, and caused many access/writing problem. Any idea?

So far, the VBOX works great!

Set the mount options to your ID
mount -t vboxsf -o rw,uid=???,gid=??? <share> <mount point>

Replace the ??? with your uid and gid.
type id in a terminal to see what it is.
