Restoring OS from Acronis boot cd
I want to access a real partition from a virtual machine. I have created an image of my Windows 7 installation with Acronis. I want to use the Acronis boot cd to boot my virtual machine and then restore the tib file to a virtual hard disk that I will make my main virtual drive for a Windows 7 virtual machine. I haven't been able to figure out how to do something like this. Is there a way to do this or something similar? Thanks!

Have a read of the discussion here. It may not be dead on point everywhere, but it should be close.
Note: read the entire thread to the end. It eventually reveals several solutions, hence you can choose which is best for you.

I've been wondering about approaches to do backups with Acronis TrueImage, toompack wrote:Have a read of the discussion here. It may not be dead on point everywhere, but it should be close.
