Hey, our Mac os x host died, well the raid controller seems to be dying, and we are in the process of backing up as much data as we can. We've had about
7 or 8 VM's running on the system and will try to import them using the vmdk files on a new system.
Anyone run into recovering vm's from backups or similar situation and have any tips or suggestions? Of course the new system will be on the same version of VirtualBox, but I am concerned about being able to save the vm's.
Thanks for any help!

A VM is just a file, its settings are stored in a .xml file, backup both, if the settings are missing you can set them manually but make sure they are the same or the VM might not boot.
