I searched around but couldnt find this discussed. When i plug in a usb flash drive it doesnt show up on the VB. Thanks for your help.

Use PUEL Version. OSE does not support USB. Its declared in the FAQ and the Manual, too.

Also if you are using 64bit Windows as your host you might see Windows failing to load the Virtual Box US drivers, if so - the following might help.
Restart the host, hit F8 to get to the advanced startup options and the select Disable Driver Signature Enforcement.
