Well you need to make sure that your bios supports hardware-v and that it is on. If not than you will not be able to install a 64-bit OS.

Read your VirtualBox users manual and it will explain this to you.

It's all in the VirtualBox FAQ.

If you have got the Asus P5QC motherboard and an Intel CPU, then after installing the CPU and other necessary things, power up the board and press the Del key when the system is starting. That will bring you to the BIOS screen.

In the BIOS screen choose the Advanced tab at the top by pressing the right arrow key. Then by pressing the down arrow key, highlight "CPU configuration" and press the Enter key.

You will then see your CPU settings. If your CPU supports hardware virtualization (VT-x) you will see an option called "Intel Virtualization Tech" at the lower part of your screen. Enable it and save the BIOS change. Your system should then be able to use hardware virtualization.

If your CPU does not support VT-x (such as older versions of Intel Core 2 Duo 7200/7300 or Pentium Dual Core E5200/5300) then you will not see that option and you will not be able to enable it. The only option in this case is to buy another CPU that does support VT-x.
