hello I'm a new member

sometimes when i download a file that I'm not really sure if its legit or not, i try to run it on a virtual box and see if it sends some kind of packets that it wasn't supposed to send

what i want to ask is this:

when you run a virus on virtual box, does the computer where the virtual box software is installed get infected too?
