Hi VirtualBox Users!
I have this Mac:
http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/i ... specs.html
It has 10.6.2 installed. I'm considering adding a USB key based VPN
client to my Mac that requires XP SP 3 from
http://www.harris.com/frac/
Some questions I have are the following:
1. Will XP SP 3 64 bit work, or will only 32 bit work?
2. Do I need to activate my key during hardware based virtualization such
as Boot Camp or is VirtualBox sufficient?
3. Are the drivers sufficient in VirtualBox to connect a second mini-DVI
to DVI based display to do monitor spanning (not mirroring) of VirtualBox
on the internal display of the iMac, and its external display? Are there
additional drivers I'd have to install to enable this feature?
4. While VirtualBox is running, is the Mac hard drive automatically
shared, or can I disable sharing with the Mac hard drive to prevent passing
of data to the Mac? Which folder gets shared by default?
5. Do I need to upgrade to 10.6.4?
6. I can install a mininum of 10.4.8 on my Mac, would this make VirtualBox
run any faster or better, or would 10.5?
7. Can I run the VirtualBox Windows environment on an external Firewire
drive, and would it make any difference in speed?
Would I need to boot off the external drive to improve speed?
8. How much free disk space would the Windows environment drive need to
run reasonably well in terms of speed?
9. Does it share my existing Airport connection that my Mac has turned on
with its Cable Internet access, or do I need to configure Windows to
connect to the Airport connection separately?
