I installed win7 on virtualbox,with a retail version ISO.
i want to active the win7 on virtualbox with a oem key.
can I?
And how?

I have done the two steps follow?but the win7 on virtualbox hasn't not actived yet:


1. shutdown the win7 on virtualbox and modify the BIOS of the virtual machine with the commands follow:
cd C:/Program Files/Oracle/VirtualBox
VBoxManage setextradata "windows7" "VBoxInternal/Devices/pcbios/0/Config/DmiBIOSVendor" "DELL"
VBoxManage setextradata "windows7" "VBoxInternal/Devices/pcbios/0/Config/DmiSystemVendor" "DELL"

2.run the win7 on virtualbox,and run the cmd.exe in the win7 on virtualbox as administrator,then enter the commands:
slmgr.vbs -ilc C:\Dell.xrm-ms
slmgr.vbs -ipk 342DG-6YJR8-X92GV-V7DCV-P4K27


the process went to an end with not any tips of error;
but the win7 is still un-actived.

Yours is not a VirtualBox question - technical support questions about Microsoft products are best directed at Microsoft. But the answer anyways is, I believe, no: you cannot install Windows retail using an OEM CD key, or vice versa.

The way to activate Windows has nothing to do with VirtualBox other than you need an active network connection. Then it is activated on line. If that fails you call their 800 number and they walk you through it manually. Any other way is illegal and not discussed here.
