distorted wmv files on windows guest

hi
does anyone know whats the issue is with wmv video files played with windows media player and very ugly video distortions
the only solution i found to fix this is to set video accelaration in windows guest to zero this is also not a Vbox issue alone
i also experienced it in vmware workstation and parallels VM.
it does not affect all wmv videos most of them work without a problem but like 10% show this behavior
edit: its also very random videos which are distorted in Vbox are not in vmware workstation and vice versa
