Seamless mode gnome menu issue

Hello, I am having a problem with gnome menus, (application, places, system) displaying when I'm in seamless mode and any of my guest windows have the focus. The menus highlight when clicked but do not display until I put the focus back on one of my Ubuntu windows, or click an empty spot on the desktop to move the focus back to the host. I have noticed mouse overs work, and the menus accept the click and change colors, just no menu appears.

I am running Ubuntu Lucid 64 bit, with Virtualbox 3.2.6. I have NVIDIA video driver 195.36.24. I have tested and found this problem present with an XP guest and a Windows 7 guest, both of which have the latest guest additions. I have tried turning the visual effects off. I can't find anything to remedy the problem, besides turning off seamless mode.

I previously ran Ubuntu Hardy 64 bit with Virtualbox 3.1.4 and did not experience this problem. I'm not sure where the problem lies, anybody have any ideas?

I just posted on the same thing. Were you ever able to get this working with Oracle versions?

Same advise here. Upgrade to version 3.2.8 since there have been improvements in this area.

Upgrading to 3.2.8 does not fix the issue. Metacity or Compiz.

The problem still exists with 4.0.0r69151 under Ubuntu 10.10 64bit. It already existed under Ubuntu 9.04 32bit. Any ideas how to fix it?
