Virtual media currently inaccessible

Post by pqb »

When VB starts up I get this message:

"One or more virtual hard disks, CD/DVD or floppy media are not currently accessible. As a result, you will not be able to operate virtual machines that use these media until they become accessible later.

Press check to open the Virtual media Manager window and see that media are inaccessible...."

When I do nothing happens, perhaps because the window is already open (the window that shows general settings) and I cannot see any clue as to what, if anything, is not accessible. The virtual machines appear to be working normally.

This started appearing recently, although I have never had floppy drive in the computer, so that has not changed.

Any clues would be gratefully received.

Open the Virtual Media Manager. The section where a problem is, will have a yellow triangle with a black exclamation mark. Click on that tab and the erroneous entry will be displayed with another icon. This could be an ISO image that you removed from your hard drive, but forgot to remove from the Media Manager. It doesn't always mean that the ISO is attached to a VM, it just means that there is something registered that is no longer available at the registered location.

Thanks for the reply.

This has cured it, as predicted.
