Verbose msgs displayed in Mandriva VM Guest OS

I have VirtualBox3.2.6 installed on Windows7 OS(primary).
++I have Mandriva Linux installed as a Guest OS within VB.
++I have Ubuntu Linux installed as a Guest OS within VB.

Question1- How can I NOT have any of the messages that are displayed
on the screen in Mandriva's VM or Ubuntu's VM while it is booting up?
I do not want these messages to be displayed on the screen while Guest OS VM is booting up.

Question2- Is there also a method of how these messages could also be
redirected( stdout or stderr ) to a specified bootup msg-log file and it looked at when it is necessary?

This is how Apache Server does it, when it is started to be booted up
---it redirects/directs the messages to a specified bootup msg-log file while it is booting up to a log file.
To me, this would be quite a bit cleaner UI for every Guest OS that is booting up within VirtualBox as a Guest OS.

Thank you!

I am not really sure how this relates to VirtualBox. This is really more of a general Linux boot question.

However, have you tried adding the "quiet" option to the kernel boot command?
