Virtual Machines on multiple hard drives

I have a weird situation where I have virtual machines stored on different hard drives. This is because I have multiple 33GB drives on the server I am using and they are not all one big drive. Therefore, I have two virtual machines on one hard drive (Windows 7 and Ubuntu 9.10) and two on another (Windows XP and Ubuntu 10.04). I want to be able to switch between the two sets of virtual machines, depending on which OS I need at the time. I have been making copies of the main VirtualBox.xml file for each hard drive and using the appropriate one. However sometimes the virtual machines get messed up when I try to switch and my virtual machine won't open. Is there an easier way to switch among different locations of VMs?

VirtualBox does not currently offer any kind of VM organising tool. You have to create a single flat list (the drive the VDI is stored on is not relevant), then run the appropriate VM as and when. I don't see why you need a "switch".
