Saving Guest Settings

I am using the latest version of VirtualBox on an XP-SP3 system.
For a long time now I have used several versions of Ubuntu as guests without any problems but I have just installed the latest version of Puppy Linux and while I have got everything that I have tried working I cannot find a way to save the session settings when I shut it down, so every time I restart it I have to go through the setup again and where I have previously installed Firefox I have to reinstall it.

The only 2 options that I have seen are 'save to file' which tells me that if I want to save to an NTFS file system I have to format first, and 'save to CD' which tells me that it cannot find the media.

There is probably a very simple answer to this but I have not managed to find it and I have run a search of the forums.

Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like you run Puppy in the live environment. Go to the Puppy Linux website and check their documentation on how to install Puppy to hard drive.

Thank you, I did wonder if that was the answer but as I have never had the problem with Ubuntu I thought that I would try here first.
