Win Xp Authentication Problems on Mac Host.

Post by bonefidefool »

I hope I'm not repeating a topic but I cant find this one and I'm desperate because I really need this for school. I have VB installed on my Intel Mac. It works so well and so much easier then Bootcamp for installation of XP. The problem is authenticating XP after install so I can get the updates for the copy of XP that I had for my old HP laptop. It is an "OEM" version if that helps. PLEASE HELP ME?!?!?! I will have to drop out of a class if I can't get that XP installed.

Generally, an OEM copy of Windows is tied to the specific hardware from the OEM. VirtualBox presents virtualized hardware to the OS, not the real hardware. Because of this, OEM copies of Windows generally will not install in a VM.

I was looking art some posts and they were talking about a DMI Bios workaround. I was wondering if there was a similar one for using MAc as host machine.
