ok ive looked at a bunch of other posts and i still cant fix it i went under setting and put the usb filter and set it to my ipod....and when i start up the virtual box (windows xp) host vista it i went under my computer and it shows no apple ipod i installed the guest additions i ejected it from the host vista and when i do it does not pop up on the virtual box windows xp..... any help I cant figure it out

Disconnect the iPod, start the VM and after it's fully loaded, connect it. You should now get a driver request for the VB USB driver for passthrough to the VM. After installing that driver, the iPod should be in the VM now. If not, detach and attach the device again.
