Unresolved symbols from vboxvideo (3.2.6)

A couple of days ago I upgraded from Virtualbox 3.1.6 OSE to 3.2.6. I had been having some problems with the guest additions in a SLES9 guest and this upgrade actually resolved them. At first. The first reboot after updating the guest additions was great - window resizing worked, it seemed quicker with IO, used less host CPU for idling, and so on. However, on the next boot, X failed to start, and I've spent the last two days trying to figure out how to fix it.

I'm not sure exactly what's gone wrong - that first boot was fine, and I was sure it was using the new driver. Since then I've tried a completely fresh SLES9 guest installation, and installing the guest additions first thing still results in this problem. Could it be a bug with this particular vboxvideo version and XFree86 4.3.99? I know it's old, but it should still work, right?

Okay, if I install the 3.2.4 additions (while still on a 3.2.6 host) everything magically works. I'm not happy about the version mismatch, but at least there's a workaround.

I'm not familiar with the VirtualBox community or the dev process - should I open a bug ticket for this, or just forget about it now that I've got it fixed for myself?

I am facing exactly the same issue with 3.2.6, with WinXP 32-bit host and CentOS-4.8 i386 guest, no workaround works for me. :(

In another setup with RHEL-5.3 x64 host and CentOS-4.8 i386 guest, I did managed to get round it, by removing the guest additions, reboot and then re-install the guest additions.

Probably I should try the v3.2.4 trick.
