Seamless mode hides host Ubuntu's dropdown menus

Hi,

This looks like a bug, however somebody may know a workaround, or I may be missing something.

On an ubuntu 10.04 host, when I activate the seamless mode (host+L), as expected the windows desktop disappears and windows' bar sticks to the bottom, right on top of Ubuntu's bottom bar, which is great.
However, if you click on Ubuntu's "main menu" on the top, on any of the menu items, the drop-down submenu is not visible, as if hidden by an invisible maximized virtual machine window.

Is there a way to prevent that?

In order to see the host's menu again, I can either temporarily switch to normal windowed mode, or click on any of the host's native windows, so that the virtual machine's window hasn't the focus any more.

Turn off the hosts screen effects when going seamless.

Compiz or anything that is called screen effects in the appearance section.
If you are using Compiz and Gnome you can enable the Gnome Compatibility and mess with the settings

Ok, I found "visual effects" under Appearance.

However, I have tried disabling them and it doesn't fix the issue.

I too have this issue. I have tried everything I can think of.
1. No effects for display.
2. Updated of VirtualBox to current - 3.2.12
3. Reboot of Virtual Machine.
4. Reboot of Ubuntu

Please fix this. DOES anyone know of a work around? T
This issue makes seamless so UN-seamless as to make FullScreen the only option.

Thanks for your help!
