WinXP Ethernet Drivers

Hello there!
Las year I was looking for the ethernet drivers for my WinXP Guest. I found a post that contained a link to a source for such drivers, and they did the job just fine. Apparently, the file is no longer available, so, if you have any network connectivity issues, try this driver. It worked for me, again.
Many thanks to kstile, who provided the solution in the first place, and did it again!

in case the link ceases to work, search for "NDIS5 Driver for Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows ME and Windows 98".
Regards!

Windows XP has the PCNet III driver build in, and it also has the Intel PRO 1000/T Server adapter driver.
If you don't have these drivers, you modified your install disc or it's modified for you (like an OEM setup or pre-build image).

Hello -
I have a macbook pro running OS 10.6.4. My company IT installed VB and used Windows 2000 as the guest OS since we had available licenses. He mentioned he couldn't get the Network Card Adaptor driver working from the standard installation.
I want to confirm that the driver mentioned on this link will work. Can you confirm?

Thank you!

The guest does not use the hosts drivers at all.
Select the PCnet-FAST III adapter as Win 2000 has this driver built in.
Leave it set to NAT unless you want it to join a domain or need to share files over the network then use Bridged.

Thanks Perry. I'll pass this info along. Since our guy is contracted, I have to wait until he comes in. But maybe I can do this myself.
We do need to have it setup to share files over the network, specifically server volumes. So in VB settings under network, Adaptor 1 is the PCnet-FAST III you mentioned. But there's no connection from inside Windows to the server or internet, even though the Mac is connected via hard wire. That is what trumped him.
Also, where is this setting where you'd put Bridged so file sharing is enabled across the network?
thanks,
Ken

With the guest shut down. Click the settings button at the top then click on the network tab on the left. See the screen shot below. These vary a bit between the different OSes but should be close enough for you to find. Keep in mind that in Bridge mode you must have a router in the network.

Thank you. I'll give this a try. Its an 30 person office with ethernet connections at each cubicle so I'm assuming the office LAN has a router. I'll advise what I come up with.
