3D gaming with Virtualization

Post by Thunder7102 »

Alright, I have already installed VM tools on my guest and enabled 3D and 2D virtualization. For some reason, my game will still not load. My graphics card for my host loads the game with great FPS. I have given my guest 1 of my 4 cores of my proccessor, and 2GB of RAM. It has also been given all my graphics memory. Where have I messed up?

Game: Atmosphir (beta.atmosphir.com/atmosphir)

Runs on the Unity engine.
Newest Version

Basically, I cannot run the multiplayer because networking has Unity and my Windows 7 64bit fighting so I end up with a "getcontextthread failed" error so I am trying to emulate a 32bit OS so I can play.

Alright guys, you were quick to respond when a simple answer was for me to read the manual. I read it and now I have a legit issue. Can someone help?

The forums I moderate seem to be MUCH more active than this...

Unfortunately VirtualBox really isn't meant for playing games, more use of legacy applications.

AFAIK the maximum graphics memory you can give your game stands at 256MB so if it needs more than that the game will not run.

Also, what *is* the forum you run? I expect it's not as busy as this one...

That's the issue. My game DOESN'T need more than 256mb graphics memory. But the game will still not load..
