Mount a USB device directly to VM Guest

Post by andre-CA »

I would like to insert a Sansa Fuze (which looks like an external USB drive). The problem is that the Host Mac OS X 10.6.4 sees the device first and mounts it. In doing do the Mac writes files like .trashes and .Searchlight to the external device. Then I unmount it on the Mac and click the USB icon in VB and the PC sees the device but does not see the Mac hidden files (so I can't delete them from the guest - windows xp pro sp3). I would like to plug the device in and have it never mount on the Mac and then just have the VM PC Guest find it. Secondarily - is there a way to see the hidden Mac files on the VM? THe file system is Fat32. I tried the obvious show hidden files - no luck.
