Need to get graphics going...
Alright, the whole reason I installed Virtualbox is because my Computer is Windows 7 64bit and the game I'm trying to play (Atmosphir), runs on Unity which has issues with 64bit. So I am trying to get Windows XP to support 3D (have yet to be able to) because the driver for my graphics card is only supported for Windows vista + so I cannot install it on XP.
What am I supposed to do? I really want to play this game without the getthreadcontext error. I get GREAT framerate on my normal computer so I assume emulation shouldn't be a big deal since on a 32bit system 2GB RAM is great.
Another question, I was looking at a CPU meter on Virtualbox. It said it was at like 100% or something like that. I have a multicore proccessor...on Windows 7, it was at like 20%. What is going on. Is virtualbox not supporting more than one proccessor or what?
Also, whenever I go into fullscreen mode and move my mouse, it moves outside the screen to the black area. This is extremely irritating as I cannot get the resolution I want (1440x900) and the mouse moves so I cannot go full screen. Please help.

The reason that none of this is working for you is you did not read the users manual.
Install the guest additions (in the guest) in safe mode, and read the manual. (click help in the main VBox program)

Umm...ok. I installed it, but it still doesn't give me 3D support. My game has a ton of pixel issues. And virtualbox still says that 3D is not supported. I mounted the ISO and ran the installer. When I rebooted the guest, it would not boot up properly, so I pushed reset and it booted properly with guest additions now running. What did I forget? I checked the 3D support button during install.

Did you boot XP in safe mode before installing the GA?

It's Windows press F8 when you tell it to start. This brings up a boot menu. Select safe mode and then install the guest additions. Be sure to select 3D when prompted if you want the 3D effects.

I installed it in Safe mode and it STILL isn't showing that 3D is supported. It is still saying my graphics memory is 16mb though my host is 256mb. It is an integrated card so it can eat more of my 6GB of RAM. What am I doing wrong?

You really need to read the manual. All of this is covered there. Your video memory is changeable in the guest settings for the VM.Thunder7102 wrote:I installed it in Safe mode and it STILL isn't showing that 3D is supported. It does not use the Hosts video card but has a emulated video instead and that is the reason that the guest additions need to be installed and in safe mode.

Re: Need to get graphics going...

Alright, I read the manual and enabled the settings. Now I am getting this error and Windows XP won't boot. What did I accidentally enable that I shouldn't have?
I set it to use 2 of my four cores of my proccessor, I gave it about 2GB of RAM (plenty for a 32bit computer), and I gave it the majority of my graphics card's memory to use.
I figure on these settings, it should run my game fine, right?

Re: Need to get graphics going...
I apologize for double posting. But I figured out I can boot the OS if I only allow 1 core to be used. This is not what I would like, but I cannot find a workaround right now. Because if I enable AMD with more than one core, it will not start.
I tried running my game with the new graphics. This time, the game begins to load and I get a blank blue screen, and once it finishes loading, I can HEAR the soundtrack, but I cannot see the game as it has turned into a white screen. This game was programmed in Unity.
