(SOLVED) aLinux as a guest (cross-posted)

Hi,
I tried posting this to the aLinux forum, but they don't seem to be able to help me:
http://alinux.tv/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=48
I'll try reposting here, with a little additional info:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Before actually installing aLinux to my HD, I decided I wanted to test aLinux first with VBox. I created a 16GB size Fixed Disk and then used cfdisk from within aLinux to partition it.
I created 3 partitions:
/dev/hda1 10GB linux
/dev/hda2 512MB swap
/dev/hda3 5GB linux
I want to use...
hda1 for /
hda2 for swap
hda3 for /home
When I use your installer to "Add" partitions, it doesn't allow me to make any selection other than "/ " for all the partitions.. It also doesn't allow me to select hda2 as a swap partition.
I also tried using cfdisk /dev/sda from the CL, but it only id's VBox's hd as /dev/hda.
If I can get aLinux to work correctly and it suits me, I'd like to try using it on my actual HD dualbooting with Windows 7. I'm currently dualbooting Win7 and Frugalware. I would like to reuse my /home partition.
I'm testing it first on VBox because I don't want to mess up a working configuration if there is a problem.
The thing that interests me about aLinux is that you seem to be continuing KDE 3.10.x
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I tried downloading aLinux again and experienced the same thing.
I decided to just try installing aLinux to just one partition so that I could try mounting the others later as swap and /home. a?Linux just freezes.
VirtualBox version 3.1.8 on host Frugalware 1.2-i686. Does anyone know if this is a VBox compatibility issue or an aLinux thing?
If it's an aLinux thing, could someone please point me to any tricks that are useful for Linuxes that are difficult to install as guests?
Thanks
