Bridged-mode network for VM doesn't work on WiFi-only host

On my Mac host (MBP) I can have a wired connection on the host, and am then able to use bridged networking. However, when I connect only with WiFi, I am unable to get network access on the VMs using bridged mode. I can use NAT, but that's not what my needs require.
I've read around a bit, and some people suggest that to get bridged mode working for a WiFi only connection that two adapters need to be defined for the VM (one for wireless, and one for wired). I tried that, and that didn't help either.
The user manual says that this only works for IPv4. That's OK with me...if it would only work!
Suggestions?
Host: Mac OSX 10.6.4 (MBP)
Guests: Fedora 13, Windows 7
VirtualBox: 3.2.4
