Safest Way To Downgrade From 3.2.4 to 3.1.8

Host: Windows 7 Ultimate x64
Guests: Windows 7 (varius flavors)

I had originally upgraded from 3.1.8 to 3.2.0 but had to go back because of VB GUI crashes. When I first brought up my VMs I left the 3.2.0 GA installed. Then I noticed that VMs with 1.5GB of RAM defined were up to 4+GB. I then uninstalled the 3.2.0 GA and installed the 3.1.8 GA and all seemed to be OK.

Now I made the mistake of ungrading to 3.2.4 and also installing the 3.2.4 GA. I need to go back to 3.1.8 to get USB support. Do I have to uninstall the 3.2.4 GA and install the 3.1.8 GA in all of my VMs?

That would be the best course of action, especially if you are suffering from the same issue as with the 3.2.0 GA.

I would prefer not to found out so I think I just uninstall the GA from all of the VMs while 3.2.4 is still installed, uninstsall 3.2.4, install 3.1.8 and install the 3.1.8 GA.

That is the best way to downgrade when you're still able to run the VMs without issues.

But I do wonder why you need to go back to 3.1.8 just for USB. USB works just as fine with 3.2.4 as it does with 3.1.8. It should at least.

For USB problems see:

Hit this in 3.2.0:

I skipped 3.2.2 but there have been numerious reports of problems.

The entire 3.2.x series of releases seem to have major problems.
